Where Do They Go?
Where Do They Go? includes a stuffed cat (which at first glance appears to be an ordinary dead cat) redoubled with a video of a live cat (in its exact likeness). The staging of the projection apparatus is key to this doubling effect – the stuffed cat, projection, and projector all being presented at floor level. The title is taken from the movie Temple Grandin, in which Temple contemplates where cows go when they die.
Where Do They Go? was included in UCLA’s 2012 New Wight Biennial, Superpositions, organized by Jonathan Apgar, Lucas Blalock, Devin Kenny, and Sean Raspet.
