I Can’t Live Without Him (It’s Your Fault)

I Can’t Live Without Him (It’s Your Fault) depicts an elderly woman lying on the floor, holding a knife to her chest. Her face and stomach are projected video, while drawn elements portray her arms, knife, and legs. The slight movements within the video (the slowly rising and falling stomach and blinking eyes) emphasize the stillness of the drawing, resulting in a living/dead hybrid. The title suggests a motive for the subject’s current state, as well as positions the viewer as the perpetrator.
